David Attenborough studies a stag beetle

We were very pleased to be able to show the film Richmond Park, National Nature Reserve at the Centre on 26th November to a capacity audience. This beautiful 20 minute film features David Attenborough who was also its narrator. It was made by the Friends of Richmond Park to highlight the environmental importance of our Park and conservation issues in the face of increasing visitor numbers. Afterwards trustees from the Friends responded to questions and comments.
If you didn’t see it at the Centre, or want to see it again, it will be shown on Christmas Day at 12.30 pm on London Live TV, and again on Boxing Day at 10.00 am. It can also be found on YouTube by searching for Richmond Park Film.  DVDs are on sale at the Richmond Park Visitor Centre near Pembroke Lodge for just £5.
Finally, the film has been entered for the 2018 Charity Film Awards, and every single vote counts. Voting takes just a couple of minutes: TO VOTE, go to: www.charityfilmawards.com. Please tell your friends and family and spread the word!

Sunday 2nd October 2016: Our thanks to Kew Village Market

cheque presentation
The mayor presents us with a cheque

We are very grateful to Kew Village Market for an award of £1000 towards our Gym Equipment fund. We have not replaced much equipment for many years and this year have been attempting to remedy this as reported already. This generous grant will help us make a major improvement to the standard of equipment in our gym. The picture shows our manager, Mary McDonald, on the left, and Chair, Teresa Grafton on the right, receiving the cheque from the Mayor and Lady Mayoress on 2nd October. The market runs on the first Sunday each month and is well worth a visit!
