How you can help!

Like all charities, we depend on grants and donations as well as help from people who give their time for free. We are very grateful to the many organisations and people who already assist. But we have a challenge as a small charity serving the local area as we don't have access to the publicity or money available to larger, national charities.

Volunteers: We urgently need people willing to give their time.

At present we particularly need people as follows:

  • Basic computer skills and teaching ability to help with our community IT education project. You need patience and basic skills only, and this is proving a very satisfying volunteer role.
  • DIY skill for fixing lights and putting up pictures and noticeboards, or just keeping things working!
  • IT skills to assist install new IT equipment (including someone to assist with our website).
  • Fund raising support, including help at Jumble sales and Fairs. There is also a need for help with the activities of our "Friends Organisation"

If you would be willing to assist, please give Mary (our manager) a call on 8948-3351 or complete our "signup form" here. Use this to tell us what areas you might be able to assist with. (This form also signs you up to our newsletters).

Fund raising: We have been relatively successful in recent years making up an income shortfall - many of our activities are subsidised.

Can you help us with fundraising? We are planning a number of initiatives.
Please contact the centre manager if either you or your organisation could help. Could you pledge a prize for a raffle, for example?
