Cambrian Centre Newsletter

Seasons Greetings!

hollyWe would like to wish all our users and supporters a very happy Christmas and New Year, and to thank you all for your support in 2013. We hope to see you at the Centre in 2014.
Gym Opening Hours The gym will be closed for Christmas and New Year on 24, 25 and 26 December and on 1st January. On all other days the gym will be open as normal.
Most other activities in the Centre will re-start in the week beginning 6 January.
Book Sale  Many thanks to all who supported the Book Sale held in early December. We raised over £240 and we have decided to hold similar sales on a regular basis, maybe every two months in 2014.
Phone and email fraud: Many of you will have heard of the various fraud scams being carried out in regards to bank accounts.  Please heed the warnings on this matter as gym users have been the target of some recent scams. Banks will never ask you to disclose personal information on the phone, nor will they send a courier to collect bank cards.
Centre Refurbishment We are delighted to tell you that the Cambrian Community Centre has been awarded a grant of £10,000 from Richmond Parish Lands Charity (RPLC). The funds are to be used to refurbish the kitchen and toilets.  We are now starting to plan these exciting improvements in detail, so if you have any suggestions please let us know. Our grateful thanks go to RPLC for their continued support.
Last minute gift ideas:  For your family or friends, how about a gift voucher for the gym or to join one of the activities in the Centre?  These include the drawing group, pilates, line dancing. You can use your own home-made voucher and then talk to us in the New Year on how the recipient can access the gym or chosen activity.
New activities for 2014:  Tai Chi on Wednesday afternoon and singing in February.  Please contact us at for more information on these new sessions.
Volunteering opportunities:  We continue to need help. The centre would welcome additional volunteers, especially from those with IT and general “DIY” skills.  More information is on our web site here.
