New (ish) Community Centre Manager:- Firstly,I would like to introduce myself. My name is David Lemon and I am the manager at the Cambrian Community Centre. I am very keen for the local residents to feel that this is their centre and that we are repsonding to local needs. If you have any suggestions for activities or events at the Centre please do get in contact with me. 

Community Centre Activities:- As I expect many of you already know there are a wide range of activities on offer at the Cambrian Community Centre. Ranging from baby and toddler groups through to support for our older residents we aim to offer something for everyone. A timetable of current activities is included at the end of this newsletter as a summary for you. A few of the more recent activities include Vinyasa Yoga with Ilkay on a Thursday evening a Deaf Lunch Club on Wednesdays 10am-3pm , Richmond Dance Mondays 4.15-7.45pm, Campfire Chorus on Tuesday evenings 8.30-10pm, CRUSE breavement support groups 2nd Wednesdays 11-1pm and additional Table Tennis on Fridays 3-4.30pm. There is more information on all these activities on our website. 

REpair/REuse/REcycle afternoon:- We will be running this event on Sunday March 22nd 12-5pm . We will have "Dr Bike" attending so if you want to get your bike all set up for the Easter holidays and the glorious Spring weather we are all expecting please do bring your cycles down to the Community Centre on the afternoon of the 22nd March. We are also hoping to provide experts who can help repair clothing, furniture, tools etc. So... don't chuck it away...... repair it today!

Art House 2020 and Open Weekend 20th and 21st June:- We will again be hosting ArtHouse at the Centre and this year will be open for the whole weekend of the 20th and 21st June. We will have displays of the art produced by our wonderful drawing and papier mache groups. In addition we will be offering taster sessions for the various groups that operate from the Centre. This will give anyone a chance to have a quick and completely free try-out of the many activities and services on offer from the Cambrian Community Centre. 

Summer Holiday Programmes- Ideas wanted:-We are hoping to run activities for local residents and centre users over the Summer holiday period. We are interested to hear if there are any suggestions/requests for this. 

Friends Of Richmond Park- Richmond Park Discoverers:-  This year's exciting programme of environmental actvities and learning for families (school age children and partents/carers) is online at https://www.frp.org.uk/discoverers/. The next event is "discover the shape shifters of High Wood on Sunday 29th March 10-12.   

Richmond Musuem Queens Road- 500 Years of History:- This new exhibition is running from 1st February to 5th September 2020. As well as numerous exhibits on show at the museum there are a number of events and activities planned, including several that will take place at the Centre or on the Estate.  

Creative Kids Holiday scheme: This will be at the Community Centre between 10am and 3pm on Weds 19th February and Thursday 20th February. Please contact Hayley to book a place or discuss the scheme. 07817 786 483
