Following the announcement re Tier 4 restrictions in December and with no current plan to reduce these restrictions for Richmond as we move into the New Year we will be unfortunately continuing with the current closure of the Community Centre and gym.
We are awaiting news on the small of number of activity groups that have been permitted to continue – Largely those providing services and support for under 18s. The gym team will be meeting virtually next week to plan a small programme of online classes and support that we will offered during this enforced closure period. A newsletter outlining this programme will be sent out in the week of 4th January and details posted on this website.
Once again we send our apologies to all Centre users and gym members and hope you will bear with us during this period of disruption.
Have the happiest New Year that you can in the circumstances and we look forward to seeing you all again soon! Here’s to a better year in 2021!
We would like to wish all of our users, friends and neighbours a very happy and safe Christmas and New Year. We have certainly had a tough year. We sincerely hope that 2021 will be better for all! As always we are here to assist in anyway that we can so please do keep in contact.

Following the recent government announcements relating to the easing of the national lock down we are pleased to announce that the Cambrian Centre gym will be re-opening from Thursday 3rd December. Members will need to book sessions by using the system on this website. This will be possible from this Thursday (25th Nov).
We still awaiting guidance relating to other Centre activities but we very much hope that the majority of activities can also recommence from the 3rd December. We will send out information on this as soon as we hear more.
If you are feeling isolated during the lockdown period and would like us to help link you up with a friend from the Centre for a walk please let us know. We will then aim to link you up with anyone else requesting a walking buddy.

The closure is a great shame as we have been slowly building back up from the previous shut down and all the feedback had been very positive. We very much hope that this will be a short interlude and that we can get back to normal service as soon as possible. Take care all and we look forward to seeing you again before too long!
We expect that most of you will have heard the latest government announcement about a second nationwide lockdown from Thursday 5th November. Although MPs will be voting on this on Wednesday, the guidance already issued indicates the mandatory closure of gym facilities. We will be discussing the detail as further information becomes available however we have halted the ability to book gym sessions from close of play on Wednesday 4th November.
We are continuing to gradually reopen the Centre with new Covid safety measures in place. This has been going very well and we are so pleased to see people back in the Centre enjoying the gym and our various activities.

Just follow the instructions to make your booking (s). We hope you find the system simple and effective. Please do give us feedback to enable us to improve it further and deal with any issues.
We look forward to welcoming you back to the gym from the 7th September!
We are delighted to announce that many of our popular activity groups will be restarting from September. This begins with our drawing group on 4th September. All activity groups must complete a risk assessment before restarting. There will also be a number of changes to the way groups are run including the changes to the layout of the Centre.
We don’t expect all groups to restart at the same time and there will be a gradual return to a full programme at the Centre.
Further updates will be posted as we develop the reopening of the Centre over the next few weeks.
Thanks for your patience and we are really looking forward to seeing you again soon!
